Job Description :Senior Project Manager, IS - ERP/CRM
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for
managing the delivery of large scale, complex projects or a mixture of complex and less complex initiatives. This Senior
Project Manager position is initially targeted to help manage a portion of the ERP/CRM program. As such, this resource will
be expected to plan and manage a portion of project tasks, risks, and budget, as well as to guide the content of a portion of
the ERP/CRM solution. Experience with SAP CRM or R/3 SD required.
On a longer term basis, working with the Program
Manager, the senior project manager will be responsible for summarizing the progress and status of their projects both for
overall project management and risk management purposes as well as for input into the portfolio management process. Senior
project managers will collaborate with the business services team, application team, and technical infrastructure team in the
delivery of projects. Senior project managers will be responsible for initial project planning, estimating, and scheduling
as well as management of the delivery of project results (usually to a specific business case). Senior project managers will
manage the completion of project deliverables and escalate issues to the appropriate IS manager, leader, or steering team.
Project managers will collaborate with resource managers on the assignment of project resources, on management of the quality
of deliverable content, and on the escalation of resource performance issues.
• Manage a portion of the ERP/CRM
program
• Ensure the solution content meets business needs and business case
• Ensure assigned portion of
ERP/CRM program deliverable are completed on time, on budget, and at the right level of quality
• Plan, estimate and
schedule project tasks and deliverables
• Determine resource and skills requirements and collaborate with resource
managers for other IS areas to staff the appropriate skills and number of resources on the project
• Drive project
to deliver business results
• Report and manage issues and project risks
• Conduct project completion
audits/capture lessons learned
• Deliver project or inventory of projects to agreed upon metrics (on schedule, on
budget, on benefit plan)
• Coordinate efforts in line with the “bigger picture†to maximize the overall value of
IT service delivery to the business
• Engage as required to help resolve project issues and conflicts, so that on
time, on budget, and value delivery metrics can be maximized
• Provide leadership in the ongoing use of structured
and rigorous IT processes that deliver repeatable results, in the use of a consistent system development lifecycle
methodology, in the use of consistent estimating and planning tools for demand management and project management, and in the
use of best practices program/project management
• Design, develop, implement, and continuously improve IT
processes
• Publish a “Scorecard" for each assigned project
• Deliver project management services and
skills to business functions executing project based work, e.g., business process reengineering, efforts such as six sigma,
marketing programs, HR programs, etc.
• Mentor less experienced project managers
• Go to resource for
delivery of high visibility and higher risk initiatives
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelors degree is required,
technical degree is preferred
• 8+ years experience in IT
• 3+ years experience designing and implementing
SAP solutions. Must have completed 1 full lifecycle implementation with SAP. Strong preference for 2 or more. Strong
prefence for enterprise level ERP/CRM implementation experience.
• 4+ years experience in project/program management
for large scale business change programs. Recognized expert in planning, estimating, organizing, and managing enterpsie
level business change programs
• 2+ years experience defining and implementing program/project management
structures, processes, and tools and expertise in the practical adoption of SDLC methodologies
• 2+ years experience
as a SAP configuration analyst in the areas of CRM and R/3 SD designing and configurating processes.

• Proven track record of partnering with business management in the delivery of IT enabled business
solutions
• Quick learner. Ability and willingness to accept new and different ways of doing things and to accept
coaching from manager and other leadership resources. Listen first mentality.
• 2+ years experience multi-tasking
and setting priorities for self and for teams based on the “big picture†and on maximization of value delivered to the
business
• 2+ years experience managing projects with resources who are both in local and remote locations
• Good attention to detail in planning the intricacies of projects and in making sure project dependencies, conflicts,
and issues are resolved in a manner maximizing the value delivered to the business
• Strong understanding of
financial management principles as it relates to project management and delivery of a business case (budget vs. earned
progress, capital vs. expense, etc.)
• Rigorous, structured, process centric approach to all work activities
• 2+ years experience using a project management tool such as ChangePoint, Primavera, Niku, or MS Project. Preference
for tools other than MS Project.
Ability to travel 20% to 40% of the time
