looks like a long story, but I
basically have three questions...hopefully they can be answered without screenshot but I'll be happy to email someone those
if they are willing.
1. Why did I get No Transfer Structure Available error.
2. Wy did my text data not show up in
maintain master data.
3. Did I mess up my source system?
im folliwing the addison wesley html guide, if anyone
knows what that is.
steps: I created my application component, then created the infosource for material number and
assigned a data source linked to my flat file source system and activated . I created infopackage for the master data and it
loaded fine with no errors.
Next I created the infopackage for the master text
data (making sure to choose text data upon creating) and chose the external source as a csv file .when i started the update
got the message "no transfer structure available" ...
I made sure the case in the csv file is not a problem and meets
the infoobjects settings in every way….then to be thorogh I went through and deleted, recreated, and reactivated starting
from the infosource and then it still didn’t work. The only thing I found was drilling down on data source and
reactivating it, then when I went back to the ifopackage got warning structure has changed but this time the data loaded
successfully according to monitor…not sure why I had to reactivate the data source because all i had done up until that
point was load the master data..but it worked in any case.…but then I went and previewed it…in maintain master data and
saw the language and desc fields are blank…so I started experimenting…I went into my source system and got mssg ‘load
application component hierarchy from the source system now?’ I clicked yes..then reactivated this source system (when I
think about it I should have answered no because this is a flat file system right?)....anyway i still don't know why the
language and desc fields are missing when I right click on the infosource and choose maintain master data....are my
expecations wrong?
also, now Im thinking i have to start the whole exercise over since i probably messed up the source
system by answering yes to "load application component hierarchy from the source system now?"
